Ken Paxton attempts to save his rally by distracting the audience

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton faced public confrontation Wednesday at a Houston rally.

A protester confronted Paxton over his plea deal with Adam Dean Hoffman, the 49-year-old attorney accused of sexually abusing a young boy for years, The Texas Tribune reported.

A protester asked, “Why did you let Adam Hoffman free?” But Paxton responded by initiating a “U-S-A” chant, seemingly attempting to drown out their question.

“I’m going to do a little something different tonight. It’s kind of risky,” Paxton said before breaking into the patriotic chant.

Under the controversial plea deal, Hoffman surrendered his law license and was released from jail in days without registering as a sex offender, according to the Texas Tribune.

Before the rally, journalist Aaron Rupar shared a video of an aide blocking another citizen from asking Paxton how he owns over 15 houses on a government salary.

Social media reacted to the rally.

“In a brutal moment, Ken Paxton’s rally was just interrupted by an attendee mad about Paxton’s Epstein-style deal for a child predator. What a disaster for MAGA,” wrote Democratic Wins Media, an X account that tracks campaigns and candidates.

“Notice how Paxton had to start the USA chant. His ‘supporters’ didn’t. Very ‘please clap’ vibes,” wrote Mike in Houston, who identifies as a 35-year veteran of the energy industry.
