President Donald Trump appeared to surprise a Fox News host with his unusual claims during an interview this week, a political analyst noted.
David Pakman, host of “The David Pakman Show” on YouTube, described how Trump spoke to Fox News anchor Trace Gallagher about the economy, AI data centers and Iran before diverting into multiple unusual tangents.
“Donald Trump seemingly desperate to make himself less popular, insisting to audiences, ‘You should really love data centers, you really should,’” Pakman said. “And this interview went so wrong that even the interviewer, Trace Gallagher, realized Trump’s brain seems to be glitching out here. This strategy did not work in times past, and I don’t think it’s going to work this time.”
Pakman argued that Trump’s statements about falling oil prices, along with his attempt to convince Americans that data centers are a good thing — something both Republicans and Democrats agree are deeply unpopular with voters — amounted to an “incoherent” move by the commander-in-chief.
Despite Trump’s attempts to convince Gallagher that the economy was booming, despite rising inflation, his comments didn’t seem to resonate, Pakman said.
“Our country is rocking and rolling. We’ve never been this successful. They don’t want to talk about it, but they’re having no choice,” Trump said.
He praised Gallagher and other Fox News anchors, saying he records the conservative network’s shows using TiVo.
“That was supposed to be an easy interview, and it just goes wrong every single d— time,” Pakman said.
