One subpoena could hold Pam Bondi accountable: expert

Journalist and political strategist Christopher Armitage accused former Attorney General Pam Bondi of insider trading Monday.

According to ProPublica, Armitage alleged she sold approximately $5.5 million in Trump Media securities in April 2025, hours before President Donald Trump announced reciprocal tariffs that tanked the stock.

Despite the 14-month gap, no insider trading case has been opened against Bondi.

In his analysis published on Substack, Armitage compared her situation to Martha Stewart’s 2004 conviction for lying to investigators about a $45,673 stock sale, noting Stewart served five months in federal prison despite her wealth and connections.

Bondi’s disclosure forms lack critical details, such as: time, price, and what she knew.

“Broker execution records answer the first two, and the first two are evidence of the third. A single subpoena would produce them. The federal government has not issued that subpoena,” Armitage wrote.

Armitage argued a single subpoena could produce this evidence, yet the federal government has not issued one.

“New York State can still charge this,” he noted.

“No pardon can stop it, no attorney general can quash it.”
