Prince Harry, Meghan Markle eyeing ‘Megxit’ reversal with return to UK after King Charles reunion: report

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly seeking to “reverse Megxit” after their brief family trip to the UKearlier this month.

“The Sussexes are seeking to reverse Megxit,” the Daily Mail’s Alison Boshoff wrote Friday, adding that “it seems that a return to the UK is being contemplated in some form and that the couple’s holiday home in Portugalwill be used as a staging post back to Britain.”

A friend of Prince Harry — who famously left the UK with Markle back in 2020 for a life in Southern California — reportedly told the outlet “there is definitely a feeling in his camp that he has started to feel a bit unwelcome in America.”

They added, “That has been an increasing and significant shift in sentiment, a feeling that the American dream might not be all that it was cracked up to be.”

The source also claimed they were “told that this is coming from Meghan as well as from him,” explaining, “I hear that Meghan is all for rekindling with and reconnecting with Harry’s English side. She is fully behind it.”

“England is where Harry’s heart has always lain,” the source said. “It is no secret that they went to the States to try and seek their fortune, to try to capitalize on his fame and his royalty to some degree.”

They also noted that the couple has had “successes” and their “$100 million Netflix dealis not nothing.”

Still, the insider noted that their “American dream is cooling” and Meghan “feels an outcast status as well.”

“She feels like she is trying to push fresh thoughts and projects but it is not easy,” they said. “So maybe enough water has now passed under the bridge here for some form of a return.”

Boshoff noted that it would not be “a permanent or imminent return” for Harry, Meghan, and their children — Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5. Instead, their Portuguese property to be considered a “stepping stone” to a transition.

A source told the outlet the couple “had a house built in Portugal for the kids to be close to their royal side in case they want to participate. It’s in a private part, I’m not sure it’s finished yet. Meghan was having Soho House decorate it.”

A friend of Harry’s allegedly told the outlet the house “is a foot on the right side of the pond and I believe that they spent time there after being in the UK last week and before it as well. It’s striking distance for them to get to London.”

They added, “Harry has no desire to be Eurotrash, he is very proudly British and English and wants to be in England but Portugal could be a kind of a stepping stone for a couple of years.”

A source claimed to the outlet that despite moving to Montecitowith Markle and launching a streaming career, they didn’t “think [Prince Harry has] ever wanted to be estranged from his family.”

“I think when he was madly in love with Meghan he could be blind enough to choose her. Now things are different, and the veil is lifting,” they added.

The outlet further claimed Prince Harry “still sees himself as a ‘working royal,’” despite giving up the distinction in the controversial 2020 move.

Harry, Markle and their children met King Charles and Queen Camilla for tea at Highgrove last Friday amid Harry’s trip to the UK to promote next year’s Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham. It was the first time the children had reunited with their grandfather in four years.

“Harry was never going to let the kids down, they were so invested in the trip,” a source told the outlet.

“They FaceTime with Charles all the time, so they already have a relationship but they were so excited to finally come. It was their first proper chance to meet,” they said.

Boshoff noted that Prince Harry will return to the UK for another charity event in September, and claimed there is “an expectation there will be another meeting with the King, and that he will accept an offer to stay at Buckingham Palace.”

He will also be in Birmingham for next year’s Invictus Games, and is said to be planning to bring the “With Love, Meghan” host with him for the 10-day event.

The pal noted, “If she is in the UK then they will want to bring the children too.”

A rep for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on Friday evening.
