During a Monday Fox News call, President Donald Trump made remarks about former President Barack Obama.
When discussing Iran policy, Trump said, “Obama was the worst of all because Obama actually went to their side, Obama, because, you know, he’s a… well… let’s not take – let’s not say, let’s leave that for another time.”
On Monday, Journalist Tommy Christopher argued the phrase “went to their side” was evidence that the long-debunked claim Obama is Muslim was still on Trump’s mind.
In his analysis, published on the Jim Acosta Show” Substack, Christopher also criticized Trump’s repeated claims that Obama sided with Iran, despite Obama securing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA nuclear deal.
“It was Obama who secured a much better deal than the one Trump is trying and failing to get – and weirdly tries to force one of his gaffes into actual reality,” Christopher wrote.
Christopher noted Trump’s rambling six-minute response included calling the nuclear agreement “JCPOC” and confusing details about its acronym.
“What’s even more stunning is that this rambling, falsehood-riddled, and unhinged response went on for over six minutes. But this will barely be a story.”
