Rapper Boosie Badazz, legally known as Torence Hatch, is in arbitration against MAGA lobbyists Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman after paying them $600,000 for a promised pardon signed by President Donald Trump that never materialized.
NOTUS reported the alleged presidential pardon was related to a gun charge. Boosie is seeking to recover $300,000 from the pair, who claim cost overruns and insolvency.
“They were real aggressive, they were talking like they had Trump on speed dial,” Boosie said.
According to texts and emails reviewed by NOTUS, Burkman assured Boosie on New Year’s Eve Trump had the pardon “in hand and ready to sign.” And a day later, criminal defense lawyer Meghan Blanco said she was told the pardon had been signed and only needed to be announced.
A White House aide later revealed no pardon application existed, Blanco told NOTUS.
Wohl and Burkman, both convicted felons with troubled histories including a robocall scheme and failed AI lobbying venture, allegedly invoked connections to far-right activist Laura Loomer and falsely claimed endorsements from political figures.
The White House confirmed the clemency team never heard from them, stating their involvement would “actively harm” pardon prospects.
