Olivia Rodrigo partners with voter-registration organization, Head Count

American singer and songwriter Olivia Rodrigo, 23, is leveraging her platform to encourage voter registration.

After the Department of Homeland Security paired her songs with footage of ICE officers detaining immigrants, Rodrigo responded by partnering with HeadCount.org, reports the Irish Star. The voter-registration organization targets younger voters through music.

She announced a contest offering fans VIP tickets to her Daisy Chain Fields tour, a music festival. Its lineup features Chappell Roan, Doechii, Santigold, Sarah McLachlan, The Breeders, Bikini Kill, and Stevie Nicks. And it only requires contestants be registered to vote to enter.

The contest materials state, “Take action for a chance to win two VIP tickets to Daisy Chain Fields, including travel and hotel!”

Rodrigo recently revealed in a British Vogue interview she remains angry about the administration’s “weaponization” of her music, describing it as “awful” and “dystopian.”
