A book by New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, “Regime Change,” reportedly infuriated President Donald Trump.
The president was reportedly enraged by claims regarding his personal bathroom and bedroom habits, according to Zeteo.
“There’s something in the book that hasn’t gotten nearly the level of attention of the aforementioned scoops,” the outlet wrote on Friday.
The outlet explained the White House initially feared the book contained audio recordings from the Situation Room, but what infuriated the president most was a rumored preference for a carpeted bathroom, which White House staff reportedly worried could foster mold growth.
An anonymous senior Trump appointee crassly told Zeteo that the revelation made the president look gross. They also claimed Trump criticized the story for getting published and was aware of the “trash and bathroom sections.”
According to Zeteo reporter Asawin Suebsaeng, Trump has been complaining to aides about the book’s descriptions of his personal habits.
Trump has since imposed an administration-wide blackout on publicly discussing the book.
