Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), gubernatorial candidate for his state, called former President Barack Obama “a crook” during a Real America’s Voice appearance Tuesday
Tuberville demanded, “Let’s put him in jail.”
The Alabama senator also publicly vouched for Dr. Anthony Fauci to be imprisoned for allegedly lying to the American people.
His comments drew criticism on social media.
Journalist John Harwood called Tuberville a “racist goober” on X.
Sports reporter and NY Daily News columnist Mike Lupica wrote on X, “Lord, this guy is a tool.”
Eric Michael Garcia, D.C. bureau chief for The Independent, sarcastically commented, “the next governor of Alabama.”
Democratic strategist Christopher Webb argued on X, “This is what Tuberville says because he had no plan to lower grocery prices for Alabama, just another imaginary enemy.”
