Supercut catches Trump repeatedly nodding off after he says ‘I’m not a big sleeper’

President Donald Trump boasted at the Group of Seven on Tuesday that he’s “not a big sleeper” — hours before a supercut surfaced of him nodding off at four White House events.

Trump made the comment in Evian-les-Bains, France, explaining why a dinner invitation at Versailles wouldn’t conflict with his work schedule.

“All it means is that I get home later in the evening, meaning early in the morning,” Trump told reporters. “And I’m not a big sleeper anyway. I won’t lose any time in the Oval Office.”

The Democratic National Committee’s rapid-response account, FactPost, had other ideas. Hours after clipping Trump’s G7 comment, the account dropped a supercut showing the president with his eyes closed at four separate White House events.

All four clips are verified. Three come from a single June 4 Oval Office event — a coal industry announcement during which Snopes confirmed Trump nodded off multiple times, eyes closed for stretches as long as 17 seconds while staff spoke around him.

The fourth clip is from a December 2025 Cabinet meeting that Snopes also authenticated.

The footage of the nodding-off has rattled the White House for weeks. After the June 4 event, an X post by HQNewsNow claiming Trump had passed out drew more than 4 million views — and the administration’s rapid-response operation lashed out.

The episode spilled into Congress. Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) confronted Secretary of State Marco Rubio with a series of clips he said showed Trump dozing off at Cabinet meetings and public appearances.

‘I’ve never seen him fall asleep,’ Rubio replied.
