President Trump confirmed Tuesday that Iran shot down the American Apache attack helicopter that crashed near the Strait of Hormuz, vowing to respond to Tehran’s latest act of aggression.
“I have just been informed by our Great Military that last night the Iranians shot down one of our highly sophisticated Apache Helicopters while patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz,” the president wrote on Truth Social.

“There were two pilots involved, both are safe and uninjured. Nevertheless, the United States must, of necessity, respond to this attack,” he added.
The shoot-down comes at a tense moment in the Middle East — with Iran and Israel exchanging volleys of missiles, while the president insists a long-term peace deal remains close.
