Hypercharged by the pandemic, workplaces have been increasingly relying on digital tools to help them recruit, communicate with, and track their employees. Even as lockdowns eased, remote work stayed, prompting more interest in technology that can help engage employees online and automate previously tedious tasks. At the same time, the introduction of such technologies into the workplace is shifting the roles of human workers, oftentimes requiring upskilling or reskilling. To reflect this change, TIME and Statista have published the first edition of America’s Top WorkTech Companies, highlighting impactful and financially strong companies that develop and provide workplace technologies, including software and hardware for HR, workforce management, employee experience and learning, and workplace operations.

Methodology: How TIME and Statista Determined America’s Top WorkTech Companies of 2026

Cloud Software Group, the top ranked company on the list, has publicly embraced integrating AI. It was formed when Elliott and Vista acquired Citrix Systems Inc. and combined it with Tibco Software, a firm Vista already owned, in a $16.5 billion deal. Its platform hosts different software tools that help workplaces manage workloads, regulatory compliance, and analyze data. In 2024, it announced an 8-year partnership with Microsoft on cloud solutions and generative AI capabilities through its application Citrix. Citrix also announced a 2025 collaboration with Nvidia on workstations that allow for the creation and testing of AI applications.

In anticipation of the need for reskilling and upskilling from the proliferation of AI across the workplace, online skill-learning platform Udemy (no. 2), in a bid to cater to the attention economy adapted to shorter form content in December announced new AI-powered microlearning programs. It’s also partnering with Glean (no. 153) to bring its programs directly into workplace systems. To further expand its AI skills offerings, the firm merged with digital education giant Coursera in 2026.

ServiceNow (no. 3), an enterprise software provider, in January announced that it was partnering with OpenAI to deploy the use of intelligence and AI agents directly into its platform, which can tie together different tasks across different teams.
