One of my favorite laptops to recommend, the Surface Laptop 13.8-inch, has now dropped to a new low price of $700. It had been $750 on Black Friday and all weekend, and it’s now been discounted by an extra $50. It’s one of the best Cyber Monday tech deals I’ve seen, as well as one of the overall best Cyber Monday deals out there right now.
The specific configuration is what makes this deal even more special though. Amazon’s actually selling the more powerful model with the Snapdragon X Elite chip for less money than the X Plus model.
Beyond just the price, though, what makes this one of my favorite laptops? My favorite feature is the 3:2 aspect ratio display, which is a bit taller than your average laptop screen. I’ve always found this to be a very productive screen to work on, and I found myself missing it whenever I switch back to a 16:10 display. Speaking of the display, this is one of the few laptops at this price that comes with a 120-Hz refresh rate, which goes a long way toward making the whole laptop experience feel smoother and more responsive.
The one catch is it only comes with 256 GB of storage. The 16 GB of memory is great, but you might want some extra storage, but the 512 GB model at Amazon is sold out (and is not as strong of a deal at other retailers).
To me, it feels almost absurd that you can buy a laptop this premium for only $700. Despite being out for well over a year at this point, it still gets excellent, all-day battery life and is surprisingly powerful. I wouldn’t try to play modern games on it, but you’ll be surprised by just how snappy the performance will feel in day-to-day work. The MacBook Air for $750 is close, yes, but features like the high refresh rate make the Surface Laptop stand out even more.
I’ve been tracking laptop prices all day, so check out my full recommendations for the Best Cyber Monday Laptop Deals.
