‘Jersey Shore’ star Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino says he’s thinking about run for NJ governor

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill could have a Situation on her hands.

“Jersey Shore” star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino suggested he may run for governor of the Garden State in 2029.

Sorrentino did not disclose which party he will choose, but dropped a huge hint when he said, “I think the residents of New Jersey would like no property tax.”

He announced his interest in political office at a Vue magazine launch party in Wall Township, where Sorrentino and his wife, Lauren, were the cover stars.

The Situation” framed his political ambition as a potential next step after he grows his drug and alcohol rehabilitation center business, “Archangels,” in Tinton Falls, noting he first wanted to establish a center in every state, according to News12, “

“I’d like to have an Archangels center in every 50 states [sic], and after that, you know, I will introduce everybody to Governor Situation,” he said.

Sorrentino’s rose to fame as for peddling the “gym, tan, laundry” ethos on the “Jersey Shore” — which featured the characters’ raucous lifestyle of drinking and sex.

However, his legal troubles followed: After the show ended, he was charged with failing to pay taxes on $8.9 million, earned largely from the fame he acquired during and immediately after the show. He admitted to tax evasion and was sentenced to eight months in federal prison.

Sorrentino’s previous business ventures include a salon, Boca Tanning Club, which closed after owing $32,000 in back rent, according to NJ.com.

He also has been public about his struggle with drug addiction.

“Many years ago I vowed that one day I would have the strength and resources to help those that are still suffering from the disease of addiction like I once was and here we are,” Sorrentino said at Archangel’s opening last November.

One more possible strike against him — he was born in Staten Island.

Though, Gov. Sherrill isn’t a born-and-raised Jersey Girl, either — she’s originally from Virginia.
