Do You Believe in Their Love?—Last Week On VICE: Members Only

“Once you speak about having a relationship with a spirit, that’s always part of what people want to talk about,” explains Brocarde, a British musician who spoke publicly a few years ago about her relationship with a ghost. “I got quite serious death threats after that… ‘You’re having a relationship with a ghost? Why don’t you kill yourself so you can be a ghost too?’”

There is a lot of disinformation in the world today. It feels like at every turn, someone or something is trying to hoodwink you. From videos of monkeys riding vultures into the skies above AI-generated cities, to phone calls on your lunch break from Indian scam farms—from fake news willingly spat into the world by politicians, to greenwashers trying to put a positive spin on total climate death—in 2025, the con never ends.

As such, you can see why some people might have their doubts when you tell them that you’re regularly having sex with a ghost.

Behind the paywall at VICE: Members Only this week, our Brooklyn-based writer Mark E. Hay spoke to several people who claim to be in some kind of romantic relationship with an entity from the spirit world. Some are shacked up with the Norse god, Loki, while others kept it simple, and just started affairs with people they once knew IRL (emphasis on the past tense). A couple of the love matches in question were made by ‘SummonASuccubus.com.’

This is not an advertisement or an endorsement of that website, or of the veracity of these stories. But why not have a read for yourself, and make up your own mind.

PLUS: MMA CHILD FIGHTS

Also behind the paywall is the full-length version of our brand new documentary, Kids Fight. It was executive produced by VICE founder Suroosh Alvi, and tells the story of children who live alone on the streets of Pakistan finding comradeship and meaning at an MMA fight club.

It’s releasing in four separate parts at our YouTube—but members can watch the whole thing right this minute.

WATCH KIDS FIGHT IN FULL AT VICE: MEMBERS ONLY

Next year, we’ll be running a special series of original documentaries exclusively at VICE: Members Only. These films will never make YouTube, because they are simply too hot for it.

Have a great week,
