Legendary music mogul Clive Davis, 94, hospitalized in NYC following respiratory issue

Clive Davis was hospitalized in New York City on Friday.

A spokesperson for the music mogul told TMZ he was suffering from “an upper respiratory infection and out of an abundance of caution, he was admitted to the hospital.”

They also said Davis, who molded the careers of Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Kelly Clarkson and more, is expected to be released in 24 hours.

Davis’ rep didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The 94-year-old record producer’s hospital stay comes just days after he was seen attending the Gordon Parks Foundation Awards Dinner and Auction in New York City.

David, who founded Bad Boy Records with Sean “Diddy” Combs many years ago, has battled health issues in the past.

In February 2021, he was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy, and postponed the second half of his annual pre-Grammys party — a party that has been held the night before the ceremony every year since 1975.

Bell’s Palsy is a serious but temporary condition that causes facial paralysis.

“He is being treated with antibiotics and steroids and is expected to recover within six to eight weeks. He is in good spirits and looks forward to doing the second half of his pre-Grammy gala in May,” his rep said at the time.

Davis entered the music business in the early ’60s and became president of Columbia Records in 1967 at age 35.

When speaking to Rolling Stone in 2017 about “The Soundtrack of Our Lives,” a documentary covering his 50-plus-year career, Davis emphasized his love for music.

“I’m immersed in it,” he said. ”I think music is the universal language.”

Davis has won five Grammy Awards throughout his career.

He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a non-performer in 2000.
