Kim Kardashian's future as a lawyer remains a dream for now.

The State Bar of California announced the results of its July exam on Friday, and Kardashian said she was not among the 54.8% of passers.

"Six years into this law journey, and I'm still all in until I pass the bar," the 45-year-old reality TV star wrote in an Instagram story post. "No shortcuts, no giving up — just more studying and even more determination."

The results came days after the premiere of "All's Fair," a Hulu show created by Ryan Murphy, in which Kardashian plays a stylish divorce attorney.

"I'm not a lawyer yet, I just play a very well-dressed one on TV," she said in her Instagram post.

Over the years, Kardashian has expressed interest in pursuing a law career and following in the footsteps of her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr. Kardashian previously said she was inspired to study law after she helped Alice Marie Johnson be released from prison in 2018.

Kardashian said she was "so close" to passing the test. She was one of 7,362 applicants who took the California bar exam in July, one of the two times the test is typically offered a year. A passing grade is required to obtain a license to practice law in the state. The share of test-takers who passed the July 2025 test was in line with the 53.8% who passed in July 2024.

Earlier this year, California's bar exam faced criticism from test-takers due to testing software issues as well as some multiple-choice questions that were crafted with the assistance of AI. As a result, the Committee of Bar Examiners recommended score adjustments for applicants who took the exam in February.

In December 2021, Kardashian said she passed her first-year law exam, the "baby bar," after three failed attempts.

Kardashian said failing this year only motivated her more to achieve what she set out to do in 2018.
