I love a good party. I had three different birthday parties this year in the span of a week, and then hosted both a soup-themed and normal Friendsgiving to kick off my holiday season. Next up is my mom’s holiday ornament and recipe exchange party that I help host, and I’m most excited to crack out the hit of my last party: the HP Sprocket Photo Booth.
You see, I was on a quest (and still am!) to figure out how to best automate my holiday parties so that I could actually enjoy them instead of running around opening the door, making drinks, taking pictures, and everything else that goes into hosting. One of the biggest hits of the party was the HP Sprocket Photo Booth. It’s a bit of a splurge, but not nearly as much of one as I expected for a whole photo booth device to sit on my dining room buffet. Now that it’s on sale for Cyber Monday, you can get one for your next party, too.
This handy machine is tall, but has a pretty slim profile for all it can do, and can even be hung on the wall. You can set up events to group pictures together, and have labels for your event appear on some of the frames you can choose from. A name like “Soupsgiving” will pop up on certain photos we took an our soup-themed soiree, for example, but not every single design has the custom words section.
You can then print photos after you take them, or use a QR code to download them. All the photos are stored in the device under the event name, too. It’s really fun for entertaining guests at a party, and while the screen is small, we did manage to fit six adults and two toddlers into a single photo. A huge success, especially since both kids looked at the camera for the picture!
It really was a great way to automate photos for a party, and have a fun interactive source of entertainment. All of my guests asked how expensive the device was, and felt like the price tag was actually worth it, making this sale a great time to buy if you like to throw a lot of parties and wish for your own photo booth. You will need to stock up on the Zink photo paper ($40 for 50) that works with the device. They’re sticky-backed, which is cool, but does cause them to curl up eventually if you don’t actually stick them to anything.
