Jenny Mollen pens vulnerable essay about struggle to feel ‘worthy and validated’ after Jason Biggs split

Jenny Mollen revealed she always struggled to feel “worthy and validated” following her recent split from husband Jason Biggs.

In a new Substack essay titled “Don’t Tell Me What It Is,” the actress explained that she’s “rushed” through her entire life ever since her 6th birthday, where she was more focused on opening presents than celebrating her party.

“Everywhere I’ve ever been has felt a little temporary, like a waiting room I’m trapped in before an operation,” she wrote.

The “Angel” star, 46, said she also wasn’t living in the moment when her and Biggs’ two sons, Lazlo, 8, and Sid, 12, were younger, which she now feels is “tragic.”

“When you’re young and ambitious, or maybe just middle-aged with ADHD, it feels impossible to appreciate anything while you’re in it,” she shared.

Mollen compared “the highest highs” of her life to “pennies disappearing into a bottomless well,” before admitting she always hoped her next big life event would be the one that “cured” her or made her feel “worthy and validated.”

Near the end of her essay, Mollen referenced her split from Biggs, 48, when she joked that her upcoming trip to Italy “sounds so ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ considering the current state of my life.”

“I’m actually just going because a friend invited me to her birthday party,” she added. “It also happens to be my birthday as well.”

Page Six confirmed Mollen and Biggs’ split after 18 years of marriage on May 14.

Their spokesperson told us the pair remain on great terms and are focused on raising their two sons.

An insider told the Daily Mail that Biggs’ weight loss transformation and “stress” from work caused a “wedge” in the former couple’s marriage.

The source added that the if the exes didn’t attend couple therapy, “they would’ve split maybe two or three years ago.”

Mollen shared her last Instagram post with Biggs in November 2025.

Alongside a photo of the two actors, Mollen wrote in her caption, “A totally approachable couple not trying to seduce you.”

Biggs and Mollen met in 2007 on the set of the Howard Deutch-directed film “My Best Friend’s Girl.”

They got engaged in January 2008 and eloped that April.

The two renewed their vows in front of their family and friends in Napa, California, in July 2008.
