The boy’s father, who was with him at the park, witnessed the assault and reported it to police, sources said.

The child was treated at a police precinct and was not physically harmed in a major way, cops added.

A person of interest was taken into custody, according to police. He has not yet been charged as of Sunday evening, sources said.
