A 57-year-old woman was hauled out of Walt Disney World in cuffs Tuesday after she allegedly went ballistic on restaurant staff over the seating arrangement — ripping a name tag off a manager, and dousing another with three glasses of water. Workers at Steakhouse 71 in Disney’s Contemporary Resort called the cops after guest Leslie Helen Varley grew “irate” because staff wouldn’t let her large party move tables to sit together, according to a report by sheriff’s deputies in Orange County, FL.
Varley then strutted up to the soaking staffer, ripped off his nametag, and walked away with it, the manager told cops.
Both victims were so shaken up that they invoked Marsy’s Law, asking to keep their identities secret to protect themselves from the water-slinging woman.
Varley herself claimed she got upset because the worker she doused “made a statement about her disabled daughter touching one of the cast members,” according to the report.
She admitted to grabbing his name tag, but said it was so she could take a picture of it.
Varley was charged with two counts of battery, robbery by sudden snatching, and criminal mischief under $200.
She was also accused of trespassing at Disney World.
The fracas went down at Steakhouse 71, which features a menu inspired by Walt Disney himself.
The restaurant welcomes large parties, according to its website — but urges guests to make reservations in advance.
