Warriors to sign Steph Curry’s brother for rest of season

As expected, the Warriors are uniting the Curry brothers.

Golden State will sign Seth Curry to a contract for the remainder of the season, ESPN reported Sunday, combining the siblings and two of the best shooters in NBA history for the first time.

Seth Curry had played with the Warriors during training camp and the preseason but was waived because of financial constraints.

The Warriors are hard-capped at the second apron, meaning they could only roster 14 players entering the season. Enough time has elapsed for the Warriors to fit Seth’s veteran-minimum, prorated contract into their salary cap for the rest of the campaign.

The younger brother and former Net led the NBA in 3-point percentage last season, shooting at a 45.6 percent clip with Charlotte.

He has bounced around with nine teams over 11 seasons, his height (6-foot-1) and defense making him vulnerable but his shooting from beyond the arc keeping him in the league.

Despite beginning his professional career with the Warriors’ G League team in Santa Cruz, he had not played with his older brother, the greatest shooter of all time.

Their on-court debut will be a bit delayed, Stephen out with a quad contusion and muscle strain and expected to be re-evaluated this week.

Seth Curry will add some offensive firepower off the bench for a Warriors team that has been middling so far at 11-10.

He could take some time from Buddy Hield, who has struggled and is shooting just 30.8 percent from deep.
