Paul McCartney closed out the 51st season of “Saturday Night Live” with a surprise third performance.

During the cast goodbyes, the Beatles musician, 83, made his way back to the band and corralled them for a final encore, performing “Coming Up,” the bouncy opening track off his 1980 album, “McCartney II.”

The NBC comedy sketch show’s cast could be seen dancing to the song.

McCartney’s first performance was of “Days We Left Behind” from his upcoming album, “The Boys of Dungeon Lane,” which reflects on childhood memories growing up in Liverpool.

The second song he performed was “Band on the Run,” the title track from his 1973 album.

It was his first performance on the show’s regular season in almost 14 years. The last time McCartney appeared as a musical guest on a regular season episode of “SNL” was in December 2012, when Martin Short hosted.

McCartney also appeared in the opening sketch with host Will Ferrell and the actor’s look-alike, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith. The bassist later showed up in a sketch titled “What it feels like talking to a mechanic” alongside Ferrell, Marcello Hernández, Mikey Day and Ashley Padilla.

McCartney played the chief mechanic named Nigel, who told the couple (portrayed by Day and Padilla): “Your tipsy-wipsy’s all dangly-doodly, and the spiggly-wiggly’s gone crumpet. The whole car is knackered.”

Last year, the legendary singer closed out the “SNL” 50th anniversary special with an “Abbey Road” medley.

In an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this year, McCartney reflected on how his upbringing affected the songwriting for this new project.

“I was thinking just that, about the days I left behind and I do often wonder if I’m just writing about the past, but then I think how can you write about anything else?” he said at the time.

“It’s just a lot of memories of Liverpool…We didn’t have much at all, but it didn’t matter because all the people were great and you didn’t notice you didn’t have much,” the keyboardist added.
