She got the beach towel pulled out from under her.
Popular HGTV host Alison Victoria revealed the grave mistake she made that led to her being ousted from her co-hosting duties on “Battle on the Beach.”
In July 2025, Victoria incorrectly hinted on her podcast that the competition show — where teams renovate beachfront properties — was getting canned amidst a canceling spree at the network.

Victoria, 44, who hosted with Taniya Nayak and Ty Pennington for four seasons, was shocked when on Tuesday, HGTV announced the series will definitely be returning – just without Victoria and Nayak.
She told the Daily Mail that she believes the wording she used on her podcast “Pap Smear” led to her sudden dismissal.
“I said that ‘Battle on the Beach’ was canceled,” she said.
“Now, that word should not have been used. I should have said it was ‘not renewed.’ That’s the language that I should have used.”
On the now-infamous podcast episode, where she was speaking to her “Ugliest Houses in America” co-star Retta, she continued to put her foot in her mouth by bashing the show’s production process.

“‘Battle on the Beach’ did not get picked back up, which is sad, because it was like adult spring break. But I believe it was all editing,” she said.
Victoria, an Emmy-nominated producer, recalled being with Nayak the moment she learned that she’d been fired.
“I looked at her and I just said, “I expected that for me,”” she told the outlet.
The interior designer — who hosted Season 1 of HGTV’s “Sin City Rehab” and is waiting on news of its renewal — said she was indifferent to her “Battle on the Beach” firing.
“I didn’t feel mad, I didn’t feel sad. I just was like, ‘OK,’” she said.

Victoria and Nayak are being replaced by HGTV designers Sarah Baeumler and Mika Kleinschmidt on the next season of “Battle on the Beach,” alongside Pennington.
Victoria, who reflected on her “Battle on the Beach” experience fondly, insisted there is no bad blood amidst the shakeup.
“We started that show. No one will ever take that away from us. And we loved that show and we just had fun,” she said.
“We made great television, and now it’s time to pass the torch and see what they’ve got. So only time will tell… I hope that the ratings are amazing.”
