TIME Reveals the 2026 TIME100 Most Influential Leaders in Philanthropy

Today, TIME reveals the second-annual TIME100 Philanthropy list, recognizing the most influential leaders in the world of giving.

The TIME100 Philanthropy issue features two worldwide covers, each accompanied by an in-depth profile: founder, chairman and CEO of Dell Technologies Michael Dell and philanthropist Susan Dell, co-founders of the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation; and actor and filmmaker Idris Elba and model, entrepreneur and activist Sabrina Dhowre Elba, co-founders of the Elba Hope Foundation.

Of the new list, TIME Editor in Chief Sam Jacobs writes in his letter to readers, “We introduced TIME100 Philanthropy…because we believe in the power of example. By telling stories about the world’s most influential givers, leaders, advocates, and thinkers, we hope to inspire others to give, and to consider the profound impact that this field has on our future.” Read more here.

The 2026 TIME100 Philanthropy list includes singer, entrepreneur, and founder of the Clara Lionel Foundation Rihanna; soccer player and philanthropist Lionel Messi; singer-songwriter and founder of the Elton John AIDS Foundation Elton John and producer David Furnish; filmmaker Steven Spielberg and artist Kate Capshaw; singer-songwriter and founder of the Barefoot Foundation Shakira; author and philanthropist MacKenzie Scott; musician, philanthropist and co-founder of SocialWorks Chance the Rapper; tennis champion and founder of the Sloane Stephens Foundation Sloane Stephens; co-founders of the Maestro Cares Foundation, singer-songwriter Marc Anthony and entrepreneur Henry Cárdenas; former U.S. HUD secretary and CEO of the Latino Community Foundation Julián Castro; co-founders and co-chairs of Arnold Ventures John Arnold and Laura Arnold; co-founders of the Tony Elumelu Foundation Tony Elumelu and Awele Vivien Elumelu; founder of The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation Christopher Hohn and more.

‘TIME100 IMPACT DINNER’ TO RECOGNIZE LEADERS IN PHILANTHROPY:

TIME will host the TIME100 Impact Dinner: Leaders Shaping the Future of Philanthropy on May 21 in New York City for an evening of celebration and inspiration. The program will include remarks and appearances from those featured on the 2026 TIME100 Philanthropy list, including founder, chairman, and CEO of Dell Technologies Michael Dell and philanthropist Susan Dell, co-founders of the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation; and actor and filmmaker Idris Elba and model, entrepreneur, and activist Sabrina Dhowre Elba, co-founders of the Elba Hope Foundation; musician, philanthropist and co-founder of SocialWorks Chance the Rapper and more. The TIME100 Philanthropy is presented by official timepiece Rolex, supporting partner American Express and celebration partner The Macallan.
