‘The affordability president!’ Trump doubles down on rebrand in wake of election losses

President Donald Trump declared himself to be “the affordability president” early Saturday, a continuation of his attempt to rebrand the GOP as the party of affordability in the wake of the party’s colossal election losses earlier this month.

“Because I have invoked FAVORED NATIONS STATUS FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, DRUG PRICES ARE FALLING AT LEVELS NEVER SEEN BEFORE, 500%, 600%, 700%, and more. No other President has been able to do this, BUT I HAVE!” Trump proudly touted Saturday on his social media platform Truth Social.

“This is a revolution in medicine, the biggest and most important event, EVER. If this story is properly told, we should win the Midterm Elections in RECORD NUMBERS. I AM THE AFFORDABILITY PRESIDENT. TALK LOUDLY AND PROUDLY!”

The GOP’s losses earlier this month saw Democratic candidates sweep several election contests, all of whom ran on the issue of affordability, and leaving Republicans in a full-blown panic over the upcoming midterm elections. That panic led to party in-fighting, including Vice President JD Vance laying blame on former President Joe Biden for the election losses.

Since the election blowout, Trump has increased his use of the term “affordability,” with some critics ridiculing the president for apparently learning a “new word.”
