Britney Spears’ estranged father, Jamie Spears, was spotted in a wheelchair over the weekend – two years after having his right leg amputated.
The 73-year-old was pictured alongside his ex-wife, Lynne Spears, his daughter Jamie Lynn Spears and her husband, Jamie Watson, his granddaughter Ivey and his grandson Sean Preston at his granddaughter Maddie’s high school graduation on Friday.
Jamie Lynn shares 17-year-old Maddie with her ex-fiancé, Casey Aldridge, and Ivey with her husband of 12 years.
Although the “Toxic” singer didn’t attend her niece’s big day, her and her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s oldest son was there to cheer on his cousin.
Jamie dressed up in a gray suit to watch his granddaughter graduate from her high school in Hammond, Louisiana.
Lynne, 71, stepped out in a cream dress and a matching blazer, while Jamie Lynn wore a black mini dress.
The 35-year-old “Zoey 101” alum was also seen crying as her daughter stepped up to the stage to receive her diploma.
Sean Preston, 20, sported a white polo shirt for the event and was snapped holding up a photo of his cousin with the words, “Look who’s graduated.” His brother, 19-year-old Jayden James, was notably absent.
As for Ivey, the 8-year-old pushed her grandfather’s wheelchair through the crowd.
Jamie, who was removed as his pop superstar daughter’s conservator in September 2021, had his right leg amputated in November 2023 following post-surgery complications.
“He had a knee replacement and got a terrible infection from it,” an insider told Page Six at the time.
Additional sources told us that the amputation was a “last resort” following several unsuccessful surgeries.
Maddie’s big day came two months after Britney was arrested for DUI in Ventura County, California, on March 4.
The “Oops! … I Did It Again” hitmaker, 44, voluntarily checked herself into rehab on April 12 and completed her treatment on April 29.
Britney ultimately pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in connection with her March DUI arrest on May 4.
The Princess of Pop accepted a “wet reckless” offer, which is a reduced charge extended to first-time offenders or cases involving no crash, no injuries or low blood alcohol levels.
“Through her plea today, Britney has accepted responsibility for her conduct,” Britney’s lawyer, Michael Goldstein, told Page Six after the hearing.
“She has taken significant steps to implement positive change, which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County District Attorney’s decision to reduce the charge in this case and dismiss the DUI,” he added.
Goldstein also said the “Stronger” singer “appreciates this discretion” and was “grateful for the outpouring of support she has received.”
An insider close to Britney, meanwhile, told Page Six that the “Womanizer” singer was “on edge” over the possibility of Jamie coming back into her life after her DUI arrest.
“He wants the chance to be able to talk with her and find some middle ground,” the source told us.
Britney, however, was said to still be “antagonized by the subject” of her father.
