Blake Lively celebrates ‘resounding victory’ after settling lawsuit with Justin Baldoni

Blake Lively celebrated settling her lawsuitagainst her “It Ends With Us” co-star Justin Baldoni while seeking fees and damagesfor the latter’s failed $400 million countersuit.

“This settlement is a resounding victory for Blake Lively,” the “Gossip Girl” alum’s legal team told Page Six via a statement Thursday.

“By agreeing to this settlement, and waiving their right to appeal, Justin Baldoni and every individual defendant now face personal liability for abusing the legal system to silence and intimidate Ms. Lively.”

The attorneys referred to Lively and Baldoni’s joint statement about the settlement released Monday, which read that the actress’s concerns “deserved to be heard.”

“By admitting that Ms. Lively’s concerns ‘deserved to be heard,’ the defendants have ended once and for all the fiction that Ms. Lively ‘fabricated’ claims of sexual harassment and retaliation,” the lawyers continued.

“From day one Blake Lively’s mission was clear: expose and hold accountable those who weaponize smear campaigns and retaliatory lawsuits to intimidate and silence survivors. That mission continues.”

Additionally, Page Six observed documents Lively, 38, filed against Baldoni, 42, in which a judge will determine how much the actor will pay his co-star for the multi-million defamation lawsuit he filed against her in January 2025. The lawsuit was tossed months later.

The documents cite a California law that protects individuals who have made sexual harassment claims from defamation suits.

Per the documents, Lively can be paid for attorney fees, “damages for any harm caused to them by the defamation action” and “punitive damages.”

However, Lively must prove that she won the defamation case, that the countersuit resulted from her retaliation and harassment allegations and that she communicated “without malice.”

As a part of the settlement, Baldoni can’t appeal the judge’s decision.

Lively and Baldoni, who were set to go to court on May 18, reached a settlement agreement on Monday after a judge tossed out 10 out of 13 ofthe actress’s allegations from her 2023 lawsuit, including conspiracy, sexual harassment and defamation.

Baldoni’s lawyer told “Extra TV” that he was “ecstatic”with the results of the settlement, especially after he was dismissed from the lawsuit.

While Baldoni’s production company, Wayfarer Studios, remained in the lawsuit, his lawyer stated that the tossed-out claims changed the settlement conversation.
