Justin Baldoni ‘ecstatic’ after settling messy legal battle with Blake Lively

Justin Baldoni is thrilled after settling his messy “It Ends With Us” legal battle with co-star Blake Lively.

“He is ecstatic … at the results of this and the settlement itself,” the actor’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, told “Extra TV”in an interview released Wednesday.

Freedman emphasized that Baldoni was “very pleased at where this ended up,” clarifying that his client was removed as a defendant in the lawsuit after a judge dismissed 10 out of 13 of Lively’s allegations, including her sexual harassment, defamation and conspiracy claims, last month.

“This is not his settlement,” Freedman noted, explaining that Baldoni, 42, was already “out of the case” by the time settlement conversations picked back up over the weekend. However, Baldoni’s production company, Wayfarer Studios, was still involved.

“I think there was an urgency to try and get it done as quickly as possible,” the attorney continued. “I think Justin and the other individuals felt pretty comfortable [with] where they were at the time.”

Freedman stated that the case was “very different” after several of Lively’s allegations were tossed out, which ultimately changed settlement discussions.

Freedman claimed that Baldoni looks at the settlement “as a logical ending to a case he’s already out of.”

Speaking on how the “Jane the Virgin” alum will move forward, the lawyer said, “Justin wants to help people who have experienced similar experiences when they felt they were accused of something they did not do.”

“And to be a leader in helping other people in that way,” he added. “I know that [Baldoni] will help people who have experienced similar trauma.”

According to Freedman, Baldoni will also continue to be an “advocate for women’s rights and advocate for the domestic violence survivor community, which has been unfortunately overlooked by this battle that went on.”

A rep for Lively, 38, did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Freedman’s latest interview surfaced shortly before Baldoni was photographed out and about in Nashville.

Exclusive photos obtained by Page Six showed the actor — in his first public outing since a settlement was reached in his legal proceedings with Lively — flashing a smile to camera as he and his wife, Emily, left a local eatery holding hands in matching baseball caps and light-wash jeans.

The “Gossip Girl” actress, on the other hand, made her first public appearance following the end of the “It Ends With Us” drama Monday at the Met Gala.

Only three of Lively’s’s claims from her December 2024 lawsuit, including breach of contract, retaliation and aiding and abetting in retaliation, were set to go to court on May 18.

Baldoni has continuously denied the allegations against him and initially filed a $400 million countersuit against the actress in January 2025. However, the lawsuit was dismissed in June 2025.

Following Monday’s settlement, Lively and Baldoni’s teams released a joint statement obtained by Page Six.

“The end product — the movie ‘It Ends With Us’ — is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life,” the statement read in part. “Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors — and all survivors — is a goal that we stand behind.”

According to TMZ, Baldoni and Lively didn’t earn any money in the settlement, but their legal teams garnered a combined $60 million.
