Kim Kardashian may be used to keeping up — but insiders say her demanding schedule made preparing for the California Bar Exam this time around unrealistic.
“Kim has a packed schedule and has been heavily involved in filming and production for several projects so she decided it’s best to skip this round of the bar exam and focus on taking it again when she feels ready,” a source close to Kardashian, 45, exclusively told Page Six.
“When Kim has her mind made up on something, she gives it her all, and this isn’t something she’s taking lightly.”
“Most people who take the bar exam dedicate months leading up to the test and focus all their energy on preparing,” the insider said. “But she is working nonstop as a single mom and trying to do it all.”
The source added that the pressure surrounding the notoriously difficult exam — combined with the public attention surrounding Kardashian’s legal journey — also played a role in the decision.
“This exam can put a lot of pressure on anybody. There’s a lot at stake and she’s put so much time and effort into this already,” the insider explained. “But on top of that, there are so many eyes on her, so it just adds a whole other level of weight to it.”
“She has no plan on giving up on her dreams, but when she takes the test again, she wants to go into it feeling confident.”
The reality star previously failed the California “baby bar” three times before passing on her fourth attempt in 2021.
The California Bar Exam is a strenuous two-day test, which entails 200 multiple-choice questions, five 1-hour essays and one 90-minute Performance Test (PT).
As we previously reported, Kardashian is taking a break after last year’s failed attempt at the California Bar Exam, having skipped this year’s February exam and has no plans to try again in July. TMZ was first to report the story.
Those looking to take the test are offered two tries per year. But, sources say the fashion mogul won’t be planning to try again until 2027.
A rep for Kardashian did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
In a 2019 interview with Vogue, the Skims founder announced she was studying law.
She told the outlet she was inspired to become a lawyer after “seeing a really good result” with Alice Marie Johnson, the prisoner she helped release the year prior.
Since then, the “Kardashians” star has been open about how difficult it’s been to become an attorney — a career her dad, Robert Kardashian Sr., also pursued.
“I know my dad would be so proud,” Kardashian wrote. “He would actually be so shocked to know that this is my path now but he would have been my best study partner.”
She continued, “I am told he was notorious for making fun of people who didn’t pass on their first attempt like he did, but he would have been my biggest cheerleader.”
