Fury flies over Trump sons’ shady drone deal with Pentagon: ‘But Hunter! But Burisma!’

President Donald Trump’s family appears to have struck a shady deal with the Department of Defense that has outraged political analysts and observers.

Bloomberg reported on Thursday that the Defense Department had agreed to purchase drones from a company backed by the president’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. The Trumps acquired the company in March when another company they were involved with, a golf company called Aerus Greenway, agreed to merge with Powerus, with the goal of taking it public.

The agreement to sell drones to the Pentagon was made “following a demonstration at a facility in Arizona, according to Brett Velicovich, the company’s co-founder and president,” the report states.

Political analysts and observers reacted to the news on social media.

“But Hunter! But Burisma! But China!” Mehdi Hasan, founder of Zeteo News, posted on X. “Shameless hypocrites. All of them. And ‘liberal’ media played the role of useful idiots.”

“Keeping the grift in the family, imitating Turkey where the biggest drone company is owned by…Erdogan’s son-in-law,” Ruth Ben-Ghiat, a historian and author, posted on X.

“As a former Trump supporter, I’m not sure if it is because I am a former supporter, but this seems really wrong, like worse than Burisma wrong?” Trishia Hope, a Jan. 6 participant, posted on X.

“Read this as written. Then read it again with ‘Hunter Biden’ instead of ‘Trump’s sons.’ Then tell me what the reaction would be,” Jessiah Eberlin, host of “Pondering Politics” podcast on YouTube, posted on X.
