Several MAGA followers fired off blame on Democrats for a shooting just one block from the White House on Wednesday that left two National Guard troops and one suspect in critical condition.
It’s unclear if it was a targeted attack and remained under investigation by D.C. Police and the Secret Service.
MAGA loyalists immediately responded on social media to the shooting.
“While everyone on X is fighting, the left is still attacking people who wear the uniform and support this country simply for doing so. There are more important things in this world and far bigger enemies who actually hate us and do, in fact, want to kill us. Pray,” Alexis Wilkins, Kash Patel’s country singer girlfriend, wrote on X.
“NATIONAL GUARD TROOPS SHOT IN DC! THIS IS WHAT SEDITION DOES! THE 6 TRAITORS NEED TO BE EXAMPLES! NOW!” A user named “John Doe” wrote on X.
“I speak for all patriotic Americans when I say the vile narrative of the radical left Democrats is the root cause of the two National Guard soldiers being shot in Washington DC,” a user named I_Speak_For_All wrote on X.
“.@CNN guest just a few weeks ago compared the National Guard to nazis. Two National Guard members were just shot in D.C. These Democrats know exactly what they’re doing. They wanted violence against the National Guard..@GuardRandy,” a MAGA follower named Salty Texan, who described herself as an educator, wrote on X.
“The same people who called our troops ‘Nazis’ and ‘threats to democracy’ for standing outside recruiting stations are now silent while two National Guardsmen lie in the hospital with bullet wounds. This blood is on the hands of every politician and media ghoul who spent years demonizing the uniform. Praying hard for our heroes. Their names will be remembered; the cowards who incited this never will,” a user named Zaida Alicea wrote on X.
“I hope you leftist vermin are happy, you’re violent rhetoric has now caused the shooting of two National Guard soldiers in DC,” user Tyler Fitzgerald wrote on X.
