Trump dismisses Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s survivors

Gathered near the White House with reporters on Thursday, President Donald Trump casually dismissed survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, referring to them as “victims or whatever.”

When asked whether he supports a public hearing for additional Epstein survivors, Trump said he was open to it, “I think we’ve had a lot of, a couple of hearings. I’m ok with it.’

However, he continued, “I understand that the women didn’t want to go under oath. That’s what I heard. That the women, the victims, or whatever, refuse to go under oath. Which is a little surprising.”

Trump’s relationship with Epstein has drawn scrutiny despite his repeated denials of wrongdoing.

In 2002, Trump described Epstein as a “terrific guy” who liked “beautiful women,” including “many of them on the younger side.”

The two were photographed together at parties throughout the 1990s. After Epstein’s 2019 arrest, Trump claimed they had a falling out and were no longer close.

First lady Melania Trump recently denied any connection to Epstein.
