Popular sauté pan brand issues recall over dangerous malfunction that left users with burn injuries

A popular sauté pan brand recalled hundreds of thousands of frying pans for “burn hazards.”

On April 2, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that about 740,000 Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue Sauté Pans imported by E Mishan & Sons, Inc., based in New York City.

The sauté pans were sold in a two-piece set with one pan measuring 10 inches and the other measuring 11.5 inches, the recall notice said. The UPC number is 0-80313-08131-6.

The pans, which were manufactured in China, were recalled due to potential heat dangers.

“The metal cap on the screw that connects the sauté pan to the handle can become detached and forcefully eject when heated, posing impact and burn hazards to consumers,” the recall reads.

The CPSC noted that E Mishan is aware of at least 98 incidents in which the metal cap detached and ejected from the pan, and there was one report of a consumer being left with bruising and burn injuries.

The pans were sold at Amazon, Walmart and Costco, both in-store and online, for about $40 from August 2021 through February 2026, per the CPSC.

Consumers who have these recalled pans should stop using them immediately and contact E Mishan for a full refund — and they’ll be asked to return the pans.

The recall number is 26-377.
