‘Thanks, Karoline!’ Analyst ridicules Leavitt’s response to soaring oil prices

A political analyst ridiculed Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Wednesday for dismissing the concerns that many Americans have about rising oil prices as a result of the war in Iran.

Oil prices have spiked over the last five weeks since the U.S. and Israel began conducting bombing strikes against Iran. Data from AAA show that the price of a gallon of regular gas has increased to an average of $4.06, up from $2.98 a month ago. The cost of diesel has increased to $5.49 from $3.98 a month ago, significantly affecting some truck drivers and logistics companies.

In response, the Iranian regime closed the Strait of Hormuz, a roughly 110-mile-wide waterway that accounts for roughly 20% of global energy trade.

During her daily press conference, Leavitt told truck drivers that the Trump administration “understands” the pain they are going through.

“We hear you, we see you, we are fully tracking it,” Leavitt said.

Political commentator David Pakman ridiculed Leavitt’s comments during a new reaction video on Wednesday.

“So anyway, at least they’re tracking it, right?” Pakman said. “Everybody should feel so much better about the high gas prices because ‘we hear you, we see you,’ you are seen, and you matter. Thanks, Karoline! Really, really appreciate it.”
