‘The Real Housewives of Rhode Island,’ Plus 7 Things to Watch on TV This Week

Bravo-palooza

The “Vanderpump Rules” spinoff “The Valley” is back for its third season this week, tracking the lives of former hard-core partyers who have moved to the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles to settle down and grow up. The “Vanderpump” alums Kristen Doute and Brittany Cartwright (who have been on the entirety of the show) are being joined by other familiar faces: Tom Schwartz and Lala Kent, who have previously appeared in the “friend of” role and are now series regulars. Noticeably absent, though, is Jax Taylor, who exited the show after a couple of tense moments with Cartwright, his estranged wife, aired. Now, as Doute is navigating motherhood and Cartwright is leading a single life, there is sure to be plenty more drama. Wednesday at 8 p.m. on Bravo.

Watch out, there are about to be some new housewives on our screens. This time, cameras were rolling in the smallest U.S. state for “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.” And if you think you recognize a familiar face, you probably do — Ashley Iaconetti, who was on “The Bachelor,” “Bachelor in Paradise” and “Bachelor Winter Games,” is set to showcase her life with Jared Haibon, her husband, who she met through the “Bachelor” franchise. Other cast members include Rosie DiMare, a former news anchor; Liz McGraw, who goes by “Rhode Island’s cannabis queen”; and Dolores Catania, who will be doing “Housewives” double duty since she was recently announced as returning for the new “Real Housewives of New Jersey” season. Thursday at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

Seventeen seasons in and “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” is not slowing down. The trailer alludes to housing foreclosures, someone “sleeping with a married man” and Porsha Williams having multiple new love interests following her divorce. Just like a Georgia peach, things are likely to get juicy. Sunday at 8 p.m. on Bravo

Reality reimagined

The British reality show “Made in Chelsea” has aired 30 seasons over the course of 14 years, and it’s where Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo met. Since then, they have gotten engaged, started their podcast “NearlyWeds” to chronicle their wedding planning, found out Habboo was pregnant — and aptly rebranded their podcast to “Nearly Parents” — and welcomed their son, Ziggy, in 2025. Now, the three-part series “Raising Chelsea” chronicles their lives as they prepared to become parents. All three episodes will air at the same time. Begins streaming Thursday on Disney+ and Hulu.

“Love on the Spectrum,” the show that highlights dating and relationships among people with autism, is coming back for a fourth season. Some cast members are returning and coupled up, but there will also be some new single people looking to navigate dating. In a reporter’s notebook for The New York Times, Maya Salam wrote, “The show feels good to watch, but calling it feel-good TV would be reductive. It lends authenticity and warmth to the genre without skewing saccharine or pandering.” All seven episodes of the season will air at once. Begins streaming Wednesday on Netflix.

High-stakes friendships

Jon Hamm is back on our small screens and back to his shenanigans on the second season of “Your Friends & Neighbors.” In the new set of episodes, Andrew Cooper (Hamm) continues his life as a previously successful financier and now jobless thief who steals from his neighbors, but the jig is almost up when someone new in the neighborhood finds him suspicious. James Marsden joins the existing cast, which includes Olivia Munn and Amanda Peet. New episodes will air weekly. Begins streaming Friday on Apple TV+.

And though trying to sneakily nab things from your neighbors is high stakes, it’s not nearly as life-or-death as when a uranium smuggling deal goes wrong. That’s the plot of “Atomic,” where two men develop an unlikely friendship and have to figure out where their moralities lie — do they choose to save themselves from potential nuclear threat, or do they work to stop the delivery of the bomb by evading multiple agencies? Because the show was originally created for Sky TV in the U.K., the whole first season is already available to watch across the pond, but is now coming to the United States. Begins streaming Tuesday on Hulu.

A naturalist in focus

With narration and voice work by George Clooney, Jeff Goldblum, Ted Danson and Meryl Streep, the three-part documentary series “Henry David Thoreau” recounts the life of the environmentalist and tries to reframe the narrative that Thoreau was simply a hermit in the woods, based on his two-year stay at Walden Pond. Instead, the documentary focuses on his antislavery work, care for the environment and desire to meet a diverse pool of people. Monday at 9 p.m. on PBS.
