Four were injured after a fire broke out in an Upper West Side high-rise, according to fire department sources.
First responders arrived on the scene around 5 pm after hearing reports of a fire at a high-rise at 124 West 79 St between Amsterdam Ave & Columbus Ave — half a block from the Museum of Natural History.
The fire was reported to have broken out on the ninth floor of the building, and 120 firefighters and EMS perssonel were dispatched to the scene
Four individuals suffered minor injuries, and one was hospitalized, while the other three required medical attention on-site.
Firefighters managed to get the blaze under control at 5:43 pm, FDNY sources said.
The blaze comes two days after a deadly five-alarm fire in the Bronx Thursday left one man dead and six firefighters wounded.
The massive inferno erupted on the top floor and cockloft of a building on East 184th Street near Bassford Avenue in Belmont around 5:30 a.m., according to the fire department.
A man was found dead at the scene and six firefighters were hospitalized with minor injuries.
