Pretty Lethal (R)
Age 16+
Gory violence and language in fun female-led horror-comedy.
This entertaining comedy-horror film follows ballerinas trapped in a remote inn on their way to a dance competition. Things get pretty violent: Expect shooting, stabbing and fighting. Characters are killed and injured, and there’s plenty of blood. There’s also an underlying threat of sexual violence. Particularly graphic moments include a stabbing in the eye, scissors forced up a nose, a bullet removed from a head, a toenail being ripped off and a dismembering. Adults drink and smoke, and there’s a reference to gambling. An underage teen also drinks, and another is given a drug disguised as candy (causing hallucinations and vomiting). There’s brief kissing and sexual innuendo. Strong language includes variants of “f—,” “s—,” “a–” and “damn,” as well as “God” and “Jesus” as exclamations. Positive messages focus on courage, perseverance, friendship and teamwork. (90 minutes)
Available on Prime Video.

A character is said to eat his victims, and a parent describes finding their child as an abandoned baby under a dumpster. Sexual content includes strippers dancing and giving lap dances and discussion of affairs, cheating, pregnancy, erections and sex. Adults drink excessively; snort cocaine; smoke a joint and cigarettes; and discuss edibles, steroids and a fatal overdose. Language includes “f—,” “s—,” “damn,” “goddammit,” “hell,” “b—-,” “a–,” “dick” and “moron.” (107 minutes)
Available on Hulu.
The Madison (TV-MA)

Violence and language in mature Western melodrama.
This drama series from “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan centers on a New York City socialite who moves to Montana to deal with loss and grief. Expect deadly accidents (one partially visible), as well as people being mugged, slapped and punched. Peril also comes from wildlife: People are stung by hornets, threatened by snakes and worry about bears. There’s lots of cursing (“Jesus,” “Christ,” “goddamn,” “b—-,” “s—” and “f—”), drinking and strong innuendo. A woman’s bare bottom is visible in one episode, though not in a sexual context.
