The heartbreaking questions Savannah Guthrie’s kids ask her after Nancy’s disappearance

Savannah Guthrie revealed the heartbreaking questions her two kids, Vale and Charles, have asked her since their grandmother Nancy Guthrie was kidnapped.

“That’s so hard with kids, you know? Because you want to protect them,” she shared with her “Today” show colleague Hoda Kotb in an interview Thursday.

“They write me all the time, ‘Mama, any leads? Have you heard anything? Any hope?’” Savannah said of her son, 9, and daughter, 11, whom she shares with husband Michael Feldman.

“And I think that we tried to talk to them and give them a little more certainty than we have — to let them grieve.”

In the interview, Savannah, 54, also talked about feeling that her fame may have caused her mom’s kidnapping.

The journalist said her brother, Camron Guthrie, first informed her that Nancy, 84, could have been “kidnapped for ransom.”

“Like, how dumb could I be? I didn’t want to believe it but do you think because of me?’ And he said, ‘I’m sorry, sweetie, but yeah, maybe,’” she shared.

“But I knew that — I hope not, we still don’t know. We don’t know anything, so I don’t know that it’s because she’s my mom and somebody thought, ‘Oh, that lady has money, we can make a quick buck,’ that would make sense but we don’t know.”

Savannah said the thought of it being her fault was “too much to bear.”

Nancy was last seen at her Tucson, Ariz., home on the night of Jan. 31 and was reported missing the next day after she didn’t show up for church.

During an investigation, authorities found a trail of blood on the elder’s front porch and noticed that her doorbell camera had been stolen.

Last month, the FBI released camera footage of a masked suspect tampering with Nancy’s camera on the night she disappeared.

Savannah and her siblings, Camron and Annie Guthrie, pleaded for the suspects to bring their mom back home after multiple ransom notes were released to the public, requesting Bitcoin.

Last month, the journalist offered a $1 million reward for her mom’s “miracle” return.

She also revealed that she and her relatives have accepted the heartbreaking reality that Nancy may be dead.

After nearly two months of being in Arizona searching for her mother, Savannah made an emotional, unannounced visit to the “Today” show studio in New York City on March 5.

Last week, Page Six exclusively revealed that the mom of two could be back in her chair at work after her kids’ Spring Break next month.

We are told Savannah wants to spend as much time as possible with Feldman and their two kids before stepping back into the spotlight.
