A former Republican congressman was floored on Tuesday after reviewing the terms of a leaked 15-point peace plan for the war in Iran.
Adam Kinzinger, a Republican from Illinois, said in a new video on his X account that the peace plan “makes Obama’s deal with Iran look like Churchill.” The plan includes Iran agreeing to stop enriching uranium, close three nuclear facilities, and allow a “free trade zone” in the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran may seize total control of in the deal, Kinzinger said.
He added that the deal looks like a “surrender,” and it shows how bad a negotiator President Donald Trump can be.
“You can’t make this stuff up!” Kinzinger said.
Trump has faced criticism from both Democrats and Republicans since the war in Iran began in late February. A recent Reuters poll found that Trump’s approval rating has sunk to 36% as the war in Iran continues to make energy prices increase.
“Honest to God, if you compare Donald Trump’s deal with what Obama did, Obama looks like the hardcore hawk,” Kinzinger said. “It’s going to be incredible … If we really won the war in Iran, then why are they getting the better deal? Because Donald Trump is the worst negotiator in the history of America.”
