Trump’s ‘freaking mess’ at airports backfires as it’s now being blamed on him: MS NOW host

The day after President Donald Trump deployed ICE agents to the nation’s airports to fill in the gaps as many unpaid TSA agents stay home, images of the heavily armed agents standing around and seemingly doing nothing are making the president look even worse than normal.

That was the opinion of the panel on MS NOW’s “Morning Joe,” with co-host Mika Brzezinski repeatedly asking if any of her colleagues knows what the purpose of the ICE airport invasion is supposed to be.

With co-host Joe Scarborough suggesting that the president is trying to provoke reactions from his critics because that’s all he cares about, Brzezinski claimed it instead has blown up in Trump’s face.

“Saying as far as owning the libs, it’s working for him even though it is hurting Republicans,” Scarborough offered. “… ICE in the airport hurts Republicans, even [Republican Senator] Ron Johnson went on Fox yesterday and said, we had this deal done and the president killed it. [Senate Majority Leader] John Thune said, we had a deal done. And the president reportedly yelling at John Thune about it in this very heated conversation.”

After Scarborough reported that Atlanta’s airport “was even more chaotic than usual,” Brzezinski commented, “I think what’s happening at the nation’s airport is sort of a, I mean, a metaphor for what’s happening across the country with things falling apart and this president owning the problem.”

“I don’t think this is owning me or liberals in any way,” she added. “I think this is a self-own in the biggest way. If you look at the nation’s airports, that’s a freaking mess.”
