Britney Spears seen for the first time since DUI arrest

Britney Spears was spotted for the first time since her DUI arrest earlier this month, as her case is currently under review by county prosecutors.

A spokesman for the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office told the California Post: “The DUI case against Britney Spears has been submitted to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office and is under review by our prosecutors.”

The statement continued, “Part of that review might include seeking additional information and evidence. A filing decision will be made before the scheduled May 4, 2026, court date.”

The pop star, 44, was seen in Malibu, Calif. on Sunday, according to a photo posted by social media fan page BritneysVault. In the photo, Spears wears a long brown coat as she stands in line to order from Starbucks in the Malibu Country Mart.

Spears sported black sunglasses inside the store, and wore her long blond hair down in waves. She held a cellphone in her left hand and carried a large orange bag.

The “Toxic” singer was handcuffed by the California Highway Patrol and arrested for DUI in Ventura County on March 4. She was released the following morning.

Her arrest came a few months after she was seen driving erratically following a night out with a friend.

Spears’ manager, Cade Hudson, called her arrest “inexcusable” in a statement to Page Six.

“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life,” the statement read. “Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”

Referencing her sons, 20-year-old Sean Preston and 19-year-old Jayden James, he added, “Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being.”

Jayden’s Mercedes — which Spears reportedly bought for him last year — was spotted at her housethe day after she was released from jail. A source close to the singer told Page Six that her sons were supporting her after her brush with the law.

“Her sons are with her right now. They love her and want to support her and just want her to feel better,” the insider said.

A source also told Page Six that Spears is “devastated” over her arrest and that the encounter “has scared the crap out of her.”

“Britney knows she has to face the consequences whatever they may be,” they said, noting that her inner circle is “just praying it is rehab and not jail.”

“She knows what’s happened is very, very bad and has the potential to impact not just her life, but everyone around her, especially her boys,” they added.

“She feels a lot of regret over what has happened.”

Spears’ erratic behavior on social media in recent years has worried some fans.

In February, she blasted her family on Instagram, noting she was “incredibly lucky to even be alive with how my family treated me once in my life and now I’m scared of them.”
