Attend enough fashion weeks and you know that, even if you’re not moved by any of the clothes, you can still find style inspiration in people’s hair. At the recent shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris — events collectively known as fashion month — there were all sorts of confidently deliberate grooming choices on display.
Longer hairstyles came in light waves and curls as well with impressively sleek middle parts. Bobs came with and without bangs — and bangs themselves, when not soft and long, were sharp and blunt at various lengths. Braided styles came in similar extremes: There were simple, single plaits or heads overflowing with them, but rarely anything in between. On the shorter end of the hair spectrum, super-cropped No. 1 buzz cuts were among the more surprising styles and were embraced by all genders.
