Pro Picks: Celeb stylists select the best 2026 Oscar looks

The Oscars red carpet is the world’s longest runway, where Hollywood’s biggest movie stars parade one-of-a-kind gowns and dazzling high jewelry. This year, the talent descended on the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles wearing custom finery, from Chase Infiniti’s river-of-ruffles silk Louis Vuitton dress, which took 750 hours to make, to Ejae’s gold sequin Dior confection by Jonathan Anderson.

We asked three top celebrity stylists to weigh in on the top 10 looks from the awards show, from glamorous classics to avant-garde designs. Below, their expert opinions on the most impactful looks of the night.

Meet the stylists:

Joiee Thorpe is a New York–based fashion stylist who began her career in fashion editorial. Known for her work on celebrity cover shoots and high-profile media appearances, Thorpe has styled covers for talents including Gabrielle Union, Zazie Beetz, Erykah Badu, Misty Copeland, Naomie Harris, Laura Harrier Regina Hall, Vanessa Williams, Demi Lovato, Andra Day, and Jazmine Sullivan.

Emma Pritchard is a New York-based fashion stylist originally from Wales. Her clients include Ellie Kemper and Milo Manheim. As a long time Alexa contributor, she’s styled cover stars Lily James, Gemma Chan and Mads Mikkelsen, to name a few.

Since joining the New York Post in 2007, Alexa fashion editor Anahita Moussavian has reported on trends, red carpet moments and fashion weeks around the world. She has styled myriad Alexa cover stars, including Anya Taylor-Joy, J Balvin, Julia Fox and David Oyelowo. Sarah Jessica Parker named a shoe inspired by Anahita’s style (called the Anahita) that was an evergreen in her SJP Collection. Follow Anahita’s fashion adventures (and two adorable cats) on Instagram.

“Seriously LV dominated the carpet tonight! I was obsessed with every look … Chase won my heart with her whimsical ruffles, cascading hair and effortless beauty.” – Joiee Thorpe

2. Ejae in Dior

“That moment when a glamorous gown finally descends upon the carpet and you squeal, quite literally, out loud to the room: ‘WOOO!’ Ejae in Dior was a moment we all want to be (much like her ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ character Rumi). Gold glitter frocks for all!” – Anahita Moussavian

3. Jessie Buckley in Chanel

“Jessie Buckley in custom Chanel looked so light and comfortable. This was my favourite of all her looks to date. Old Hollywood glamour reworked in contrasting color blocking and matching red lip. A timeless perfection!” – Emma Pritchard

4. Gwyneth Paltrow in Giorgio Armani Privé

“90s minimalism is * the * moment. And try all we might, no one currently captures the OG essence better than Gwyneth Paltrow swanning the Oscars tonight in a cool, sleek, slit-up-there strapless Giorgio Armani Privé gown coupled with Tiffany jewels and the most perfect sleek side part.” – Anahita Moussavian

5. Barbie Ferreira in Gap Studio by Zac Posen

“Barbie in high street high drama!!! I loved everything about this custom Gap Studio by Zac Posen look. The bold blue moiré taffeta, the meticulously boned, raw-edged corset and the clever shirt sleeve bow bustle. Her pose exuded confidence. She not only looked incredible, you could tell she felt it too!” – Emma Pritchard

6. Renate Reinsve in Louis Vuitton

“It was honestly very chic with such a strong ’90s nod. The monochromatic look with a statement cuff felt effortlessly sexy and minimal at its finest. I am officially an LV girl!” – Joiee Thorpe

7. Timothée Chalamet in Givenchy by Sarah Burton

“Timothée feels like a clear standout — embracing risk and bringing a fresh, next-generation perspective to personal style that feels both exciting and innovative.” – Joiee Thorpe

8. Wunmi Mosaku in Louis Vuitton

“I keep going back to Wunmi Mosaku in this glimmering green asymmetrical Louis Vuitton. Effortless (right down to her matching LV eyeshadow and David Yurman jewels). Maybe it was the monochromatic intention, or maybe it was her pregnancy glow, but there was no doubt that Mosaku shone brightest tonight.” – Anahita Moussavian

9. Kate Hudson in Giorgio Armani Privé

“Kate remains untouchable! A true OG, she took a polarizing peplum and served sex appeal! Here for it.” – Joiee Thorpe

10. Pedro Pascal in Chanel

“Pedro Pascal rewrote the rules of formal dressing in custom Chanel. Forgoing a jacket and tie, relying instead on crisp tailoring and accessories. French cuffs, cummerbund, pearl tuxedo studs and a statement sculptural pin. An effortless minimal masterclass!” – Emma Pritchard
