A California assemblymember stalked his wife and tried to control her movements while he was in rehab, bombshell divorce documents reveal.
Elizabeth Arambula claims her husband Joaquin Arambula, who is running for Fresno City Council, would keep tabs on her through his father while he was in recovery.
The mother of three alleges she was being spied on using the family’s home security system and said she threatened to call the cops on her father-in-law unless he stopped harassing her.

Elizabeth Arambula filed for divorce on January 26 and released a string of explosive claims against her estranged lawmaker husband.
She accused him of blowing thousands of dollars per month on gaming as well as being addicted to his THC pen and whiskey.
According to her divorce papers, when Elizabeth Arambula was moving out of the family home, Joaquin Arambula, 48, had his father watch her and try to follow her to her new place with their three daughters, aged 11, 14 and 15.
She said in a signed statement: “I had to approach his father and demand he leave or I would call law enforcement.
“He took control of the home’s alarm system, removed me from the account and began monitoring our activity and setting the alarm remotely, all from the rehabilitation facility.”
Elizabeth Arambula also accused the former emergency room physician of having one of his daughters “download a tracking location for him so he would constantly know our whereabouts.”

After 15 years of marriage, the ugly divorce battle has blown the lid off Joaquin Arambula’s daily life as a Democrat representative of about 500,000 people of California District 31, covering the Fresno area.
Elizabeth Arambula continued: “On a typical day he spent most of his time using his THC pen, drinking whiskey and playing games on his iPad, taking a few meetings scattered throughout.”
She says she has footage of him smoking marijuana from a vape pen on a Ring home security camera. In one month alone, he is said to have “spent approximately $4,700 on the mobile game “Raid:Shadow Legends.”

The assemblyman’s salary was also revealed. His wife says he earns $12,000 a month and collects a $6,000 per diem for the eight months the Assembly is in session.
Elizabeth and the couple’s three daughters expenses are $28,000 a month, and she claims he has syphoned $1 million from their accounts.
Her attorney Zeppy Attashian told The Post: “After multiple attempts to reach an agreement with Dr. Arambula, she was left with no choice but to seek the court’s assistance.
“Ms. Arambula has been a devoted stay-at-home mother and wife for the past 15 years, and it remains her sincere hope that Dr. Arambula will do the right thing for her and their children.”

The assemblyman said in court documents he has not been allowed to see his children and that he voluntarily entered a rehab program.
He said: “I just felt I needed some help to adjust and to make sure that I didn’t become dependent on alcohol or marijuana.
“I have trust in our court system to reach a fair and impartial resolution based on the facts and not on unreasonable demands, unwarranted fears, and false accusations.”
He added: ”I am prepared to demonstrate my continued sobriety to the court and my willingness to support my family.”
Arambula checked himself into rehab at Reflections rehabilitation for about $30,000. In 2018, he was arrested for child abuse for spanking his then daughter, seven, though he was later found not guilty.
His daughter had told a teacher about the alleged abuse, which led to a report being filed with Child Protective Services.
Elizabeth has also claimed there were many days she drove him to work because he was under the influence and that a government car sometimes drove him back home.
Arambula was the first Latino physician elected to the Fresno Assembly.
