Donald Trump on Friday met with the man who was elected mayor of New York City, and concluded that despite previous attacks from both parties, Zohran Mamdani is a “rational person.” That provoked outrage with Trump’s biggest fans.
After the meeting, Trump took to his own social media site, Truth Social, to offer a glowing review of the GOP bogeyman.
“It was a Great Honor meeting Zohran Mamdani, the new Mayor of New York City!” the president wrote.
That didn’t sit well with Trump’s own base of support.
Indignant1, who has a photo of Trump in their profile picture, replied with, “Very disappointed. You have let us down.”
Erica Corrieri, who frequently shares Trump’s posts, asked Trump, “How was it an ‘honor?’” She then added, “He’s a dangerous manipulative actor.”
Another Trump supporter, DJ 1776/2025 Revolution, said, “I’m glad it was your great honor to meet a communist pig that will spread through our country like wildfire and destroy it from within!! Just like the Democrats have been trying to do for the past 20 f—— years! I’m so glad you kissed his a– today! That is not what we voted for!”
Constance Dawn Olson, a self-identified Trump supporter, said, “Be careful, sir. I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him once a commie always a commie!!!!”
Another self-identified Trump supporter, oopsaDaisysmom, responded with, “You have betrayed your base by honoring jihadis I’m sick over you lately.”
Elishouse, whose bio says “I am so thankful Trump is our president,” said, “Not happy with this at all.”
Another user with pro-Trump sentiments in their bio, Rum-Becca wrote, “i’m so sad my President bowed down to that kind of evil. 
.”
Wabccoa, a MAGA user who claims to be a “Trump loving tea party warrior who fights for God, Country, Freedom, and Traditional American Values, and the United States Constitution AS WRITTEN, not Interpreted!” further pleaded with the president:
“WATCH OUT FOR THE SNAKE SILLY MAN. YOU KNEW HE WAS A SNAKE BEFORE YOU TOOK HIM IN!”
