A Washington scuffle between Anthropic and the Pentagon has some users changing their chatbot of choice after OpenAI swooped in and reached an agreement of its own. The move caused a surge in support for Anthropic, with Claude dethroning ChatGPT and hitting No. 1 in the App Store over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Google’s Gemini has been racing to catch up with ChatGPT, and offers some features that Claude doesn’t.
