Israel announces new wave of strikes as Iran vows to avenge Khamenei

U.S. Central Command said Sunday afternoon that it has struck more than 1,000 targets in Iran in two days of operations, including ships, submarines, missile sites, communications links, and the command-and-control centers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. President Trump said in a Sunday evening video address that “there will likely be more” U.S. casualties, after the military said three service members were killed in action and five seriously wounded. The joint operation with Israel that began Saturday killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader.
