President Donald Trump had his second outburst of the day Saturday over the media’s coverage of his administration’s ongoing war against Iran, an outburst that comes as a U.S. delegation meets with Iranian officials in Pakistan to negotiate a potential end to the conflict.
“The Fake News Media is CRAZY, or just plain CORRUPT!” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “The United States has completely destroyed Iran’s Military, including their entire Navy and Air Force, and everything else. Their Leadership is DEAD! The Strait of Hormuz will soon be open, and the empty ships are rushing to the United States to “load up.” But, if you listen to the Fake News, we’re losing!”
Trump’s latest outburst came just over two hours after another social media post in which he criticized the media’s coverage of the U.S. war against Iran, a conflict in which the United States had failed to achieve many of its stated war objectives.
Headed by Vice President JD Vance, a U.S. delegation is meeting with Iranian officials Saturday in Islamabad, Pakistan to discuss terms for ending the conflict.
