MS NOW Joe Scarborough criticized Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s over-the-top press conferences about the Iran war, comparing his behavior to “third-grade chest thumping” on a playground.
Scarborough expressed shock that Hegseth continues appearing publicly despite humiliating Trump and the administration daily with his “stupid routine.”
During Wednesday’s Pentagon briefing, Hegseth boasted about a ceasefire agreement already falling apart, claiming a military victory forced Iran to negotiate — a characterization co-host Willie Geist noted misrepresented events. Scarborough suggested Trump should silence Hegseth, stating the defense secretary embarrasses himself while damaging American credibility with Iran.
Scarborough noted the incongruity of Joint Chiefs Chair General Kaine standing beside Hegseth while having to clarify that Americans could still die, given ongoing conflict. The criticism reflects broader concerns about Hegseth’s fitness for the position and his impact on the administration’s credibility.
